Aerosmith will get their own installment of the Guitar Hero franchise in June. The pairing marks the first time the series has dedicated an entire game to one band, and also marks the first time a video game has been built around Aerosmith since 1994 arcade-shooter Revolution X
Verizon Wireless has landed the exclusive rights to bring Guitar Hero III to its wireless customers. The new version includes fifteen tracks from the game (including the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ “Suck My Kiss” and the Scorpions’ “Rock You Like a Hurricane”) and like its bigger brother, Guitar Hero III Mobile allows players to buy new song packs each month.

LACUNA COIL, the first Italian band to contribute a song to the Guitar Hero soundtrack, was the special guest at the launch party for Guitar Hero III: Legends Of Rock, held in Milan, Italy this past Thursday (November 29). During the presentation, guitarist Marco "Maus" Biazzi went onstage and challenged a member of the audience to play the game against him — promising he wouldn't choose "Closer", LACUNA COIL's track on the game. The highly anticipated music video game entitled Rock Band hits retail shelves on Tuesday, November 20th for Microsoft's Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system and Sony's PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system. The video game includes Metallica's "Enter Sandman". Beginning on November 20th, fans will be able to purchase 3-song packs from Metallica, The Police and Queens of the Stone Age for a suggested retail price of $5.49 per pack or $1.99 per track (440 Microsoft Points per pack and 160 per track for Xbox 360). Individual tracks from Foreigner, Wolfmother and The Runaways, among others, for $1.99 per track (160 Microsoft Points for Xbox 360).
